Benjamin Lo Performs 37 Movement Tai Chi
Benjamin Pang Jeng Lo (1927 – 2018), performs the 37-Movement Yang style form of Tai Chi taught to him by Cheng Man Ching. Benjamin Lo first met Tai Chi master Cheng Man Ching as a patient of Chinese Medicine. He started learning Tai Chi from Cheng shortly afterwards.
Benjamin Lo was one of the first people to study with Cheng Man Ching after he relocated to Taiwan from China in 1949. He studied Tai Chi with his teacher until Cheng moved to the United States. In 1974, Benjamin Lo moved to the United States to follow his teacher his teacher in New York, and help him spread Tai Chi in the west.
Later, Ben Lo went on to become a greatly skilled teacher of Tai Chi Chuan. He eventually settled in San Francisco, and opened up a Tai Chi school there. Benjamin Lo had a major influence on many Tai Chi practitioners in the western world. He was a major contributor to the book “Essence of Tai Chi Chuan”, a translation of the Tai chi classics which has been widely read by many Tai Chi enthusiasts.
