C.K. Chu Demonstrates Yang Style Tai Chi

C.K. Chu (1937 – 2013) demonstrates the Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan in this performance from when he was younger.

Chu had learned martial arts and calligraphy as a child. He trained in the styles of Northern Shaolin, and Fut Ga (Buddha Fist). He studied the Wu style of Tai Chi with Cheng Wing-Gung, and the Yang style from Master Chan, who was a student of Yang Cheng Fu and Tung Ying Chieh.

He moved the New York City during the 1960’s, and afterwards learned Tai Chi from William C.C. Chen and later assisted teaching at his school. In 1973 Chu opened up his own Tai Chi studio in New York’s Times Square.
