Chen Quan Zhong Performs Lao Jia Yi Lu

Chen Quan Zhong demonstrates the Lao Jia Yi form of the Chen Family Tai Chi Chuan. Chen Quan Zhong is considered the most senior of the 19th generation of Chen Family Tai Chi Chuan masters. He started learning the family art at the tender age of 5 years old from his father, Chen Shi Gong.

As Chen got older he had the opportunity to learn with members of the Chen Family Tai Chi Chuan including 17th generation Chen Family members, Chen Sheng San and Chen Guo Ying, as well as being instructed by 16th generation member Chen Liang Zhi. His last teacher was  Chen Shou Li, who was a student of the famous Chen Fake.

The Chen style of Tai Chi Chuan that Chen Quan Zhong practices is considered the oldest of the versions of the Family style. As well as being the president of the Xian Chen style Taiji Asssociation, Chen Quan Zhong has taught countless students including many westerners. It must be an honor to have a direct link to the past masters and their styles of Chen Family Tai Chi Chuan.

Below is a DVD by Shawn Cartwright, who is a 20th generation indoor student of master Chen Quan Zhong. It features instruction in the forms and exercises of this line of  Chen Tai Chi Chuan with some rarely seen Tai Chi drills.
