Fu Zhongwen Performs Yang Style Tai Chi Sword

Fu Zhongwen (1903-1994) is seen in this Tai Chi video performing the Sword set from the traditional Yang family style of Tai Chi Chuan. This was filmed in 1987 when Fu Zhongwen was 85 years old.

Fu was a disciple of Yang Cheng fu, who was the 3rd generation master of the Yang Family. Fu Zhongwen had started his training in the Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan from Yang Cheng Fu when he was only 9 years old, practicing diligently along with the class groups as well as by himself.

When he  became older, Fu Zhongwen started assisting Yang Cheng Fu teaching and accompanied him on his travels to other parts of China. Fu would often take on challengers from other martial artists who wanted to test the worthiness of the Yang family Tai Chi Chuan.

Fu Zhongwen lived  a life of Tai Chi well into his elderly years. He worked tirelessly to promote the Yang family style, founding the Yongnian Tai Chi Association, traveling abroad to other countries, and teaching countless numbers of dedicated practitioners of Tai Chi Chuan.
