Tian Xiuchen Performs Chen Tai Chi – Part 1

Tian Xiuchen (1917–1984) demonstrates the 83 movement Yilu form of the Chen Family style of Tai Chi Chuan. Tian learned the Chen Tai Chi from his teacher, Chen Fake. Tian Xiuchen studied with Chen for 15 years and became one of his few disciples. Chen Fake is known as one of the most famous of all the Chen Tai Chi Chuan masters of all time.

It is said that Tian Xiuchen had great ability in the skills of softness and neutralization. He was able to take any force applied to his body by the opponent, and redirect it. The lineage of the Chen Family Tai Chi Chuan through Tian Xiuchen is very popular in Beijing.  From his years of experience and knowledge with the traditional Chen Family system of Tai Chi Chuan, Tian Xiuchen created the Chen 36 Movement Tai Chi Form.
