Wu Yinghua Performs Wu Family Tai Chi Sword
Wu Yinghua (1907–1996) demonstrates the double edged Sword Form of the Wu Family style of Tai Chi Chuan. The sword is one of the more common weapons practiced in Tai Chi Chuan, however, it remains a difficult weapon to fully master the techniques properly.
Wu Yinghua was the eldest daughter of the Wu Chien Chuan (Jianquan), the famous master of the Wu style of Tai Chi Chuan. She began her training in the family art from her father at the age of 9 years old. In 1930 Wu Yinghua married Ma Yueh-liang, who was her father’s senior disciple. Together, well into their elderly years, they taught the Wu style to many students.
