Young Chen Xiaowang – Push Hands

In this video, we see a young Chen Xiaowang performing Push Hands exercises in this old film. Chen Xiaowang started learning his family’s Tai Chi Chuan at the age of seven under his father, Chen Zhaoxu. He later continued his studies in the family art with uncles Chen Zhaokui and Chen Zhaopi.

Chen Xiaowang is a 19th Generation Lineage Holder of the Chen’s Family Tai Chi Chuan. He is known as one of the “Four Tigers of Chen Village, along with Wang Xian, Zhu Tiancai, and Chen Zhenlei Chen Xiaowang has been instrumental in spreading the Chen style of Tai Chi Chuan around the globe.

Below is a book that was written by Chen Xiaowang on the five levels of Tai Chi Chuan. It covers from the beginner stages and all through to the higher levels of Chen Tai Chi Chuan training. Translated by Jan Silberstorff, who gives his expert commentary on the five levels in the book.
