Du Yu Ze – Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan
Du Yu Ze (1895-1990) performs the Laojia Yilu form from the Chen style of Tai Chi Chuan in Taiwan in 1975. He was about 80 years old when this was filmed. Du Yu Ze learned his Tai Chi from Chen Yen Xi, who was the father of the legendary Chen Tai Chi Chuan Master Chen Fa Ke.
After Chen Yin Xi retired from his teaching duties, Du Yu Ze then learned from Chen’s nephew, Chen Ming Biao. It is said that Chen Ming Biao worked as a body guard for the father of Du Yu Ze, who was a government official. This is possibly how Du Yu Ze was introduced to Chen Ming Biao. With the changing political landscape in China, Du Yu Ze moved to Taiwan, where he taught his art to many students.
